Talanoa Mai Pacific App

Oranga Tamariki has developed an interactive mobile app – Talanoa Mai.  This app enables users to move between seven nations – Samoa, Niue, Cook Islands, Fiji, Tonga, Tokelau and Tuvalu – using the immersive technology to learn more about each Pacific peoples’ unique cultural heritage and identify.

Interactive features within the app include pronunciation of Pacific words, maps with details of Pacific population in New Zealand and connection to Pacific national maps; common greetings and phrases, prayers and songs; proverbs, details of ceremonies; and support with pronouncing and learning vowels and consonants.
